Clients of Missing Pieces attend brief intensive counseling sessions at Crossroads Counseling of the Rockies in Buena Vista, Colorado. www.crossroadscounseling.net
Clients meet with therapist, Trudy M. Johnson, LMFT Monday through Friday for three hours during the two week program track.
Trudy uses several techniques that are concentrated specifically to the clients’ individual concerns. This type of therapy is much more effective for long-standing issues than the traditional one hour per week form of counseling. This is a concentrated, goal-directed therapy designed to get to the root issues and produce long-term “heart shift” results.
This distinctively Christian perspective based on Biblical principles provides an environment of safety along with accelerated healing that produces permanent changes for women and couples.
Traveling to Buena Vista and staying here is part of the experience!
Buena Vista, Colorado is a sleepy little mountain town in the Heart of the Rocky Mountains. Living in Buena Vista for two weeks will clear your head and really give you the “feel” of being away from reality and the pressures of daily life. We have one stop light and the only traffic jams we have are when the local deer population amble across the street, making cars stop for them.
Lodging accommodations are away from the counseling center. If you prefer a home-like atmosphere, we have a few local homes that open up to our clients as a bed and breakfast. (this is the least expensive way to stay). There are also other local lodging facilities available in various price ranges.
You can fly into either Denver, Colorado or Colorado Springs, Colorado. After arriving at either of these cities, it will be necessary to rent a car. Then you drive an additional three hours to get to Buena Vista. Traveling through the beautiful mountain scenery, you will definitely feel like you are getting away from the “real world.”
If you are concerned about driving or need to save the expense of a rental car, Black Hills Stage Line is a bus line that will bring you from downtown Denver to Buena Vista. Once you arrive here, you would have no transportation because there are no car rental agencies available. However, we do have a town shuttle that will take you back and forth from your lodging to the counseling center for $4.00/day.
If you choose not to drive, but take the bus line, you have to coordinate your flights into Denver, Colorado to accommodate catching the RTD SkyRide. You will take the Sky-Ride to downtown Denver where you catch the Black Hills Stage Line (bus) that will bring you to Buena Vista. The fee for the bus service is extremely reasonable.
Trudy admits 32 women or couples per year into the Brief Intensive Counseling Track.
Costs: The two-week program is $3000.00 for an individual and $3200.00 for couples. This does not include travel, lodging, food or other incidentals.
The monetary cost of this experience is no more than the cost of an average vacation or cruise. Additionally, inpatient therapy can be thousands of dollars and last weeks. Considering the lifelong expense of weekly therapy, brief intensive therapy is one of the most worthwhile investments a person or couple could make. The long-term savings is substantial.
